French Terra Cotta Flower Pots

These are a super cute and easy way to add some flair to your garden, patio or indoor potted plants!  I originally got the idea after looking at the blog The Graphics Fairy, you can check it out here.  I like to use a neutral color to paint the  flower pots, since I like to use such colorful french labels.  But, you could actually use any color that you like.  I actually made a few of them for myself, and one of my friends loved them so much she requested them for her birthday present.  When giving as a gift stack the pots, wrap with pretty ribbon and add some seed packets of pretty flowers or herbs!

- French inspired graphics.  Try wine labels, perfume bottles, soap containers or fruit crates.  Just print off on your computer after heading to The Graphics Fairy
- Scissors
- Terra Cotta Pot(s) of all different sizes
- Disposable Gloves
- Spray Paint- Ivory, Silver or Light Blue
- Mod Podge (I used matte)
- Paint Brush

1.  Cut out the graphic you wish to use and make sure that it will fit on the side of your pot.

2.  Put your gloves on and spray paint the side of the pot.  Work quickly and apply a light coat of spray paint until you cannot see any of the clay color coming through.  You could also use primer to speed up this process.

3.  Read the back of the spray paint bottle and wait the designed amount of time until the paint is fully dry

4.  Now apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the back of the graphic and paste to the side of the flower pot.  Make sure you smooth out any wrinkles or bumps.  Let this dry

5.  Add another thin coat of Mod Podge to the top of this label and wait for about 15-20 minutes before you apply another coat.  Apply a total of five coats and let it drive overnight.
